Purity Health and Fitness has been operating since 2006. Our core objectives are to:

Purity Health and Fitness is operated by qualified and experienced personal trainers - Gareth Connell, and Maz Bedson. Gareth and Maz are Master Personal Trainers and are passionate about what they do. They both qualified with the European Institute of Fitness and are registered at Level Three with the Register of Exercise Professionals which means they agree to abide by a Code of Ethical Practice.

Without exercise adults lose about 0.5kg of muscle every year during their 30’s and 40’s. This rate may double to 1kg per year after 50. The problem is masked by increasing fat levels.

There are several 'risk factors' that can increase your chance of developing heart disease. These are obesity, smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, diabetes and a sedentary lifestyle. Leading a healthier lifestyle including exercise can help reduce the risks.

One of the big problems with high blood pressure is that it hardly ever causes symptoms. This means it may go unnoticed until it causes one of its later complications such as a stroke or heart attack.

Peak bone mass is achieved by around thirty years of age.  From about the age of forty bone mass is lost at the rate of 0.5 – 1% per year.  In women experiencing the menopause the loss of bone density is accelerated to 3-5% for about 5-7 years
